Theatre is for everyone—it’s a space for all voices and experiences. If you haven’t stepped into the theatre world yet, we want you to know that there is space for you here.

We’re passionate about nurturing the voices of local artists. Our artist development initiatives create space to take risks, build new skills, and bring bold ideas to life. We champion independent projects, fuel grassroots initiatives, and support artists as they grow, experiment, and push the boundaries of their craft.

Artist Development Opportunities

  • Our Artist Meet-ups are casual gatherings designed to bring local creatives together. Whether you’re looking for collaborators, seeking advice on a project, exploring opportunities, or just wanting to share the ups and downs of the artistic process, these sessions create space to connect, commiserate, and celebrate the work of making art in community.

  • Our Cabarets give artists the chance to step into the spotlight without the pressure of a big production. With minimal rehearsal and maximum creativity, these performances are a fun, low-investment way to share your talents, try something new, and connect with audiences in an energetic, supportive setting.

  • Our play readings offer a low-pressure, high-reward way for artists and audiences to connect with new work. With nothing more than scripts in hand, participants can explore stories, share ideas, and engage with theatre in a casual, welcoming space. It’s an accessible entry point for artists to test out material, for community members to get involved, and for everyone to come together around the joy of storytelling.

  • Our pop-up workshops give artists and community members a chance to dive into performing arts in a fun, low-commitment way. These experiences are perfect for exploring new skills, trying out creative ideas, and connecting with others in a hands-on, welcoming environment.

  • Formerly known as Playwrights Corner, Writers Room is a welcoming meet-up for local writers of all genres. It’s a space to write, share your craft, and connect with fellow creatives — whether you’re looking for quiet focus time or meaningful conversation. Writers Room is about building community, supporting each other’s work, and celebrating the practice of writing in all its forms.
